Holy Redeemer School Open House

Please ask your friends and relatives who have school age to consider Holy Redeemer School.  Our next open house will be Monday, March 14 from 9:30-11 AM.

Cultural Heritage Mass

The annual Mass honoring the various cultures that are present in the Archdiocese will be held at the cathedral on Saturday, March 16 at 2:30 PM.

Holy Redeemer School Chinese New Year Cultural Show

All are invited to our students Chinese New Year program Monday, February 26 at 12:30 PM in the gym.

Lent 2024

  1. Faith Sharing: Deacon David will lead a faith sharing  on Lenten Saturday evenings starting February 17th in the Angelus House beginning at 5pm with a potluck fellowship afterwards.  The topic is to walk with Jesus. All are welcome to join. Please contact Ursula Yau or reply to this email with any questions  Feb 17th and ending March 23rd.
  2. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: On Sunday March 10-Monday March 11, we will have adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  Parishioners are invited to come to Holy Redeemer for quiet prayer from after the 12:30 Mass on Sunday until 5 PM on Monday.  On Monday at 5 PM we will conclude with Stations of the Cross and Benediction.
  3. Dinner and a Movie: Please join us for a potluck dinner and Lenten movie at 4 PM on Saturday, March 16.  Bring your favorite dish to share.  The movie will be Moses.  Please click here to watch the trailer for the movie: https://www.sight-sound.tv/packages/moses-standard-group-license/videos/moses-trailer
  4. Operation Rice Bowl:  It has been our custom at Holy Redeemer to save money during Lent for Operation Rice Bowl. The collection will be taken on Palm Sunday.  The money helps the poor and starving people of the world and in Philadelphia. Rice  Bowl Banks will be available in Church during Lent.

USCCB’s Asian and Pacific Islander Catholic Encounter July 2024

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops will hold an “Asian and Pacific Islander Catholic Encounter” in Indianapolis, Indiana from July 15-17.

The cost for the Conference, including lodging, is $290.  Scholarships are available for anyone for whom this cost is an issue.  Participants will also need to travel to Indianapolis.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Holy Redeemer School Spotlight

The students did a wonderful show in their Chinese New Year program with acts, dances, and songs by each grade; special performances of a ribbon dance, umbrella dance, sword dance, chimes, ending with drums and a lion dance.  The next show is scheduled for Monday, February 26, both at 12:30 PM, if you did not get a chance to see it.

Next Friday, March 1, is the beginning of a week-long schedule of Terra Nova testing by all grades K to 8.
