Holy Redeemer School Spotlight
Holy Redeemer School has a booth at the Great Philly Schools Fair at the PA Convention Center this weekend. Families and students would get information from each of the schools they may want to attend. Normally for high schools, this is the first year for elementary schools. The fair is scheduled for Fri 3-6 and Sat 10-2.
The REACH mentors will take the 8th graders to the fair in Saturday to get information on the high schools they may want to attend after graduation.
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Spotlight
In Pope Francis’s new apostolic exhortation, Laudate Deum, the pope again calls us to action, highlighting the urgent need to care for our planet as the climate crisis deeply affects our global communities, especially the most vulnerable. At Catholic Relief Services, we stand with those communities facing the harsh impacts of the climate crisis, from deadly droughts to forced migration. This unity drives our push for policies that lessen climate impacts and encourage sustainable development. In fact, Laudate Deum is fundamentally a rallying cry for the crucial policy work needed to change paths. He invites leaders everywhere to rise above self-interest and imagine a future shaped by the common good.
“If we consider that emissions per individual in the United States are about two times greater than those of individuals living in China, and about seven times greater than the average of the poorest countries, we can state that a broad change in the irresponsible lifestyle connected with the Western model would have a significant long-term impact. As a result, along with indispensable political decisions, we would be making progress along the way to genuine care for one another.” ~ Pope Francis, Laudate Deum
