Rally and March for ‘No Arena in the Heart of our City’
There will be a rally and march on September 7th beginning at City Hall starting at 1pm. Rain date is September 14th. Let’s send a powerful message to City Council and show them that people are still watching and still say No Arena in Chinatown! Bring your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers 🙂
Sunday School Program for Students with Special Needs
Holy Redeemer Church Sunday School for Students with Special Needs 2024-2025 will start on September 15, 2024 at 10:00 am in the 7th grade classroom. We offer students preparation for First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Reconciliation for all special needs students. Registration forms are available at the back of church.
Please contact Fr Tom, Ms. Leung or Kurt Jung (kjj2003@hotmail.com) for more information. Catholic Students with Special Needs from Holy Redeemer Church, St. John the Evangelist Church and outside the parish are welcome.
Sunday school program
Holy Redeemer Sunday school 2024-2025 registration is now open. Children K to 10th grade are welcome. First day of School will be 9/15/2024. Lessons will held every Sunday 12:20-1:20, except Holy days and special events. We also offer 1st Holy Communion class and Confirmation class. Registration forms are available at the back of church. Previous students need not do the registration. Parents will receive student placement information of upcoming school year by text or email.

RCIA beginning September 23rd
These weekly Zoom classes are for people who are considering being baptized or received into the Catholic Church. It is also for Catholics who have not been confirmed and for people who want to deepen their understanding of the Catholic Church’s teachings. All are welcome. Classes are held on Monday nights and will begin on September 23rd. Recordings are available each week for those who cannot watch on Mondays. Holy Redeemer School Spotlight
School opens on Wednesday, September 4. School that week – Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday all are 1/2 days with early dismissal.
The following week will be full days with regular dismissal. The breakfast and lunch program begins this week, too.
The kickoff of REACH program is September 6 with a classroom presentation to the 8th graders. REACH mentors helps 8th graders apply to high schools and to manage life after Holy Redeemer.
The first group session is on Saturday September 28 when mentors take the 8th grade class to the Great Philly Fair to visit High School representatives to help choose which schools are attractive to the 8th graders.
