Update on HR Principal Search

As we remember Dr Lisa Cancelliere’s years of service with gratitude and prayers, we must seek Holy Redeemer’s next principal.

I have asked the following to form with me a search committee.  The search committee will make a recommendation to me and I will choose the next principal.

Here are the members:

  1. Angela Vales, HR parent, HR parishioner, HR school alumna, active at Holy Redeemer
  2. Kevin Liang, HR parent and HR parishioner
  3. Frances Milone, HR teacher
  4. Denise Lee. HR parishioner and chair of our marketing committee
  5. Angela Chan, HR parishioner, HR school alumna and long time public school teacher
  6. Jeanne Meredith, retired principal of Saint Mary Catholic School and HR school volunteer
  7. Sister Margaret Rose Adams, assistant superintendent of schools for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, will participate as a consultant.

We met on March 16 by Zoom (I was in Paris).  We decided to post the position on March 27 and give three weeks to receive applications.  The applications are to be received by April 17.  We will meet the following week and then interview candidates. It is our hope to choose our new principal by sometime in early May.

Film on Blessed Carlo Acutis Premieres on Day of his Canonization

I write to invite you to watch a new film on the life of Blessed Carlo Acutis, which will be shown in almost 1,000 theaters nationwide for three days, April 27-29. Youth groups and young adults are encouraged to view it. Individual and group ticket sales, plus more information, are now available on the website CarloAcutisFilm.com.

The documentary Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality features Catholic leaders, young adults and even the parents of Blessed Carlo reflecting on his life and legacy of faith.

He will be canonized the first saint of the millennial generation by Pope Francis on April 27 in Rome – the date that the film premieres in the United States. Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager who built websites to spread devotion through information about eucharistic miracles and approved Marian apparitions. He died of leukemia at age 15 in 2006, and was beatified by Pope Francis in 2020.

Holy Redeemer School Spotlight

The ClassH-Room Fox29 TV show featuring Holy Redeemer students against their teachers of their knowledge of facts  will be televised on Fox29 on April 16 @ 6:30 PM.  The show will also be available on YouTube if you miss the TV show.
