Saint Francis Blessings of Animals
Saint Francis is known for his love of animals and for his praise of God who created all living beings. On Saturday October 5, at 10 AM, we will have a blessing of pets on the sidewalk in front of Saint John church. Bring your pets to church. We will thank God for the gift of animals and pray that all people will respect the dignity of our fellow earthly creatures.
USA Hurricane Relief
Next Sunday, October 13, our second collection will be to assist people who were harmed by the devastating hurricane in the southern USA. All money will be sent to Catholic Charities USA for this purpose.
Holy Redeemer School Open House
Please encourage families with school age children to consider Holy Redeemer School. Our school is ranked academically among the very best in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, based on the students’ performance on standardized tests. There will be an open house at the school on Thursday, October 10 from 9:30-11 AM.
Eucharistic Procession
We will hold our second annual Eucharistic procession from Holy Redeemer Church to Saint John’s on Sunday, October 20. There will be ONE Mass at Holy Redeemer at 11:15 followed by a procession through the streets of Center City, ending at Saint John’s for closing devotions after the 12:30 Mass. There will be a reception in the Saint John’s parish center following the program. This is an opportunity to witness publicly to our faith the Jesus Christ is truly present in the Holy Eucharist.
