Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Spotlight

Here’s why peace in the Sahel matters: violence in the area is forcing millions to flee their homes. In fact, in less than two years, the number of displaced persons has increased by 40%, reaching 2.5 million people in five West African nations in the Sahel. The Catholic Church in West Africa and other faith-based organizations are united in responding to the violence through the Sahel Peace Initiative. Please visit www.crs.org for more information and to see how you can help!

“It’s hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian and chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need of my help… If I say I am Christian, but do these things, I’m a hypocrite.” ~ Pope Francis
